| Thought I had better do an update as dont want too long between them! Must get back into posting regularly, a little easier now its linked to my facebook account as it is there to remind me!
Pregnancy - Made it to week nine and all is well, this time is alot smoother, a tiny bit of nausea in the evening which is very brief but does get me out of the washing up, cooking is fine but after eating cooking smells just turn my stomache! Doing the insulin jabs is also a lot easier this time around after my sis showed me an easier technique and the hospital changed the injecting site to my tummy instead of my thigh, its such a relief. Apart from that I get a bit tired in the afternoon and I cant seem to stay up late, but all in all Im not complaining!
Have bought a new scrapbooking album, a nice baby blue one and transferred all of Ethan layout pages to it, leaving the other album for general and me and dar stuff. Also found some nice maternity papers and embellishments so bought two of each so I can journal my pregnancy with ethan as well as the new baby so they each have one for their own albums. I will sort out a new album for the new baby once I know its sex so I know what colour I need!
Today I booked tickets for the Yazoo reconnected tour in June, Im going with both my sisters and my mum and I am soo looking forward to it, made sure we got seats though as I will have a bump and need to be able to sit. I love Alison Moyet, the woman has an amazing voice and loved her since my teens, I even won a prize at my local youth club for dancing to her song, dont go! LOL Memories!
Got an invite in the post for a party, its a surprise one so thats all Im saying for now, dont want to give anything away, just in case! Also got a big family gathering coming up in April, which I am really looking forward to as well, 2008 is going to be a busy year, it seems, no complaints there at all! | comments: Leave a comment |

So I thought I would post the most recent family pics which are our Christmas day photos (see link above), Ethan is a huge Brum the car fan and we got him his very own pedal car and he loves that car dearly :)
Ethan is growing up soo fast and is so happy and confident, a little too confident when it comes to climbing! He is saying more and more words everyday but his main first words were Brum, guitar and hiya amongst others!
He did give us a bit of a scare back in June when we had to rush him to hospital by ambulance, sirens blaring out because he had a bad convulsion due to a high temperature and nasty virus, after a week in hospital he bounced back and he has been absolutely fine and the hospital are very pleased with his health and development which is a relief.
Will leave it there for now as its been a long day and I am worn out! | comments: 4 comments or Leave a comment |

Got to the hospital at 3pm and had my 7wk scan (see pic!) Saw the tiny heartbeat and said hi to the new bean! Saw the dietician, diabetic nurse and Doctor and the consultant and then had to pop over to A&E as I have a tiny slither of glass in my toe which has been there about 5 wks I did pop to the hospital at the time but they wouldnt touch it cause I am diabetic and preggy!
The Doctor at the A&E did try and get it out but to no avail so I just have to let it work itself out on its own!
The bottom line was I was stuck there four bloomin hours! Luckily I didnt have Ethan with me, he was having fun at home with his daddy! I got home and Ethan and Darwin were waiting for me outside, ethan wrapped up and on his bike waving and calling his mummy :)
I can now relax as no more appointments for 4wks apart from a quick blood test :) | comments: Leave a comment |

| I know, I know its been ages since I posted, over a year in fact! I have just been soo busy being a mum and enjoying time with Ethan, not to mention time spent on a certain facebook site lol
Anyway decided I needed to get some more journalling done seeing as Darwin and I are expecting baby number 2!! Yes I am preggers again and all seems ok so far :) Got antenatal appt tommorrow and hoping for a scan just to reassure more than anything...
so I just have to document this one just like I did with Ethan, will have to update on our lil dude as well!
ok News is out, I'm off to bed! Nightxx | comments: 8 comments or Leave a comment |
| Our little boy is one year old now, I cant believe how fast the year has gone by! Had a little party for him last Sunday and he had a lovely time. My sisters took him shopping the week before as my sister wanted to buy him his first pair of trainers for his birthday. Made sure they took some photos for Darwin and to keep as memories and I took loads of photos and video of his party weekend and his birthday for Darwin as still being up north working he missed it all.
Ethan has a thing with Sully from Monsters inc and we tried desperately to have a monsters inc theme for his party but sadly all I could find was a happy birthday banner which I got but then had to settle for a jungle theme for all his partywear! We managed to get a Monsters inc cake thanks to his talented daddy and got him to sort the picture and text for a photo which we were able to have printed in icing on the cake and it looked fantastic!
Picked up the cake and a CD full of music for the party and Ethan and I had a boogie to one of the songs which was out when he was born and used to settle him when he was tiny, with the cake and all the memories rang darwin as I was feeling all sentimental and he announced he would be home in two weeks which was literally the icing on the cake! (excuse the pun!)
Ethans party was really nice, he had a lovely time with all the cuddles, balloons and party food and got some really lovely pressies too. My mum also bought my sisters and I a bouquet of flowers which was really nice too. Darwin and I bought Ethan a mini table and chairs which is made to look like pencils and he loved sitting at it for his party and loves using it to play at too. On Tuesday, Ethans actual birthday Darwin rang up ten minutes before ethans actual time of birth and started going through what happened at that time last year, at exactly 12.28 he spoke to Ethan on the phone while I got photos it was really sweet :)
The summer has gone amazingly fast what with moving into the new place, getting settled and visiting Darwin every month. The graphics company that are keen on Darwin working for them have stayed in contact with Darwin and have waited for him to finish the season (at his request) and now that he is finishing they are arranging a meeting regarding him working for them. The company is in Stanstead and with us being near Heathrow its going to mean a long commute daily or him staying over there during the week but they have all that to work out.
Its a week until I go back up to Lincs to stay with Darwin for his last working night and then a last night to say goodbye to everyone and celebrate Darwins birthday, returning home on Sunday so I am trying to finish all the little things I want done before Darwin comes home. I know that Ethan is going to love having his daddy at home as when we come home from Lincs after a stay with him he gets upset and asks for him so I cant wait to see how he reacts when his dad gets in the car and when he takes his daddy to see his bedroom, Im pretty excited about it and Im not sleeping too well because of that and its affecting Ethan as he is picking up on my excitement and well this next week cannot go fast enough!!
Looking forward to falling asleep to Darwin nattering in my ear or tapping away at the keyboard! Preparing for going through huuuge amounts of coffee and sugar! Planning on plenty of family time, walks in the park and looking forward to a lovely family christmas together! Not looking forward to Darwins feet and his hair clogging up the hoover haha! | comments: 2 comments or Leave a comment |
| Its been a really busy hectic day today! My sister Sarah came over with hubby Alan and Alan brought his drill and stuff and helped me put up smoke alarms, cupboard locks and a stairgate and a few other bits and bobs that needed doing. My other sister Lisa also came over and her other half Justin fixed the clamp on my car exhaust which the MOT man pointed out needed new bolts and he also fitted in my CD player which I have planned to do for months and months. The car is now fully serviced and MOT'd for the year and that makes me happy!
What makes me even happier is tommorrow I travel up to Lincs to see Darwin, although we miss each other loads, its surprising how fast the weeks zoom past when he is busy caught up in work and I am busy with the house and ethan. It makes it just that little bit easier to cope with I guess. I soo look forward to visiting him though and each visit brings him closer to coming home and that I cant wait for! Everything is packed except for little things we will need in the morning and I am completely organised. I am planning on going to bed once I have finished this ready for the early start and the long drive, the drive is a killer taking anything from 4-5hrs. It shouldnt be as hard tommorrow as Ethans friend Bradley is coming with his mum which means he will have company and I have a helping hand if he gets a little bored and fed up being in the car!
Looking forward to loads of hugs and kisses and cant wait for him to see how much Ethan has grown! Will leave it there and get off to bed, its going to be a busy week with lots of late nights! | comments: 2 comments or Leave a comment |
| Pyjama day was a success, housework was put on hold, we dragged the sofa cushions down on the floor and Ethan and I camped out in the lounge. Had stories, played nursery rhyme cassettes, played peekablocks and just had some nice quality time together. I napped when Ethan did and once he was in bed for the night I went to bed with my laptop and snuggled up with the duvet and chilled out. Still waiting for the antibiotics to kick in, paracetamol is still proving to be useless, if its still bad tommorrow will see if Dr will give me something stronger. All in all its been a really nice day though and have decided to do this more regularly and not just cause Im ill!
Chatted with my mum and Bev and also caught up with Pip, Darwin is planning to get online tommorrow afternoon yay!!
Me going to get some cornflakes for supper and then get some sleep! | comments: 1 comment or Leave a comment |

| About 2 1/2 weeks ago I slipped on the wet bathroom floor and although I managed to save myself falling backwards I landed badly on my knees, the following day I ached all over and that night I started feel pretty bad, I had a temperature where I felt soo cold I had a thick jumper on and snuggled under the duvet, my legs felt like jelly and I felt really weak. I called out the doctor and he felt sure the aching was from the fall but the other symptoms were a virus, it was just coincidental. So for the past couple of weeks I have been carrying on riding it out waiting for the virus to subside, still feeling weak, having to put ethan in his pram to get him from the house to the car as I couldnt carry him for very long and avoiding driving because even the steering wheel felt way too heavy!
On wednesday evening the fevers were back, I had severe pain in my back and stomach and I felt really rough so decided yesterday to go to the local walk in centre at our local hospital as its two minutes up the road and closer than the doctors surgery. They found I had an infection probably in my kidney and were all set to give me antibiotics but they wanted to do an ECG as I had the pain in my upper stomache which seemed unrelated to the infection and with the aches inmy joints and limbs as well they just wanted to make sure.
The nurse set up the ecg and did two heart scans and then I met the doctor in her office after. She told me that the result of the ECG was abnormal and asked if there was someone I could call to take me to St Peters hospital in Chertsey as she didnt want me driving and also having Ethan with me I needed another pair of hands. Called mum and she rang my sister and they came with me to the hospital. The Doctor called me in and asked for a brief history so I told her that it was originally thought that it was a virus and she said she agreed very strongly that it was a virus, she also told me not to worry about the ecg, those machines pick up all sorts of abnormalities apparently. She was all ready to send me packing when I asked what about the infection, her reply "what infection" only then did she read the notes sent from the other hospital. Her reply was that she was gonna do a few more tests anyway but she wrote me a prescription for some antibiotics and said I could go. My mum was not impressed wanting to know what about the other tests because although the pain in the back and fever symptoms were covered by a kidney infection I still have a pain in my stomach and the aching all over unexplained.
Took it easy for the rest of the day and got an early night,my sisters got me some shopping in so I dont have to go anywhere and today Ethan and I are having pyjama day! Although the paracetmol is helping the fever its not touching the pains so going to give it until tommorrow for the antibiotics to work and if no joy will go to the Doctors again.
Its funny cause only about 5 weeks ago I was given A+ on my yearly diabetes/health check!
Apart from that everything else is fine, Ethan is oblivious to it all, he just got lots of attentio from granny and auntie lisa! | comments: 2 comments or Leave a comment |
| On Saturday Ethan and I went with my mum into London to visit Bev.. we have known her since we were kids and lived in London ourselves, we were neighbours and friends and we now consider each other family. It was Ethans first time on a train and and on a bus and he was more interested in the carriage full of people than the trees whizzing past the window! I did wonder if vetinari could be driving us as its the line he is on so its a possibility! It was Bev and Ethans first time meeting each other and they took to each other straight off, she had seen loads of pics online but now she got to see him in hugavision and she barely let him go and kept trying to steal him!
Mum treated us to lunch and we went to yummy yummy on the old kent road a chinese/japanese restaurant where the food was really great and the staff were lovely they kept popping up to see Ethan and couldnt believe he was only nine months! Ethan got to try various foods but his favourite was prawn crackers! In the afternoon I helped sort Bevs computer out and mum helped Bev get to the next level of Spiro on her playstation!
We got home around 8pm and Ethan was so keyed up from the day he didnt sleep til gone 10. Hamish was looked after by Barry and Sarah our neighbours so he got to play with their dog Roly and he was all chilled when I got home so it was early nights all round!
Made myself look a bit of a ninny on Sunday, I had bought a wifi router for my mums internet connection so I could pop online when I could and to take with me to the new place. Once BT had fitted the socket I realised the mains lead didnt fit the router, it was ok at my mums as we used her cable - or so I thought! At PC world explained the problem and discovered I had used my own cable for the router and I had my mums lead in my hand so had to dash over mums to swap. How stupid did I feel!
Last week my sister Sarah took Ethan to have his photo taken and enter him in the local baby of the year competition, his picture will appear in the local paper in a few weeks time with all the others! Anyway yesterday went to choose the pic and had the opportunity to buy some, they were pretty expensive but with my mum and two sisters it meant we ended up getting all of them as we could split the cost 4 ways as they all wanted copies too! I cant wait for his dad to see them, just too cute!
Having painted Ethans room Im trying to decide what room to do next, the whole house is peach at the moment but living with a designery person makes it very difficult! I might just do the kitchen and leave the lounge and bedroom until Darwin is home so he can help choose. He can design and I will do they DIY as I wouldnt trust him anywhere near a paintbrush, drill or cable he is a bit of a nightmare and happily agrees! Today is housework day have a mile of washing to get done and need to pop out briefly, Not having Darwin here means I only need to vacuum every other day, I swear he maults more than Hamish! hehe | comments: Leave a comment |
| Finally I have broadband again, it took 3 appointments for BT to finally get an engineer out to me!
Its now 2am and its way past my bedtime, a certain little dude will still expect his breakfast early tommorrow morning but its taken all this time updating and getting the pc sorted before I could even get to LJ!
Well for those of you who read Darwins journal you will know we aren't living together at the moment, for those who dont know its just temporary, Darwins feet didnt drive me away!
The move up north didnt work out, for one we couldnt find a house to rent where the landlord would allow children and dogs and second I was terribly terribly homesick, so when we were given notice on the little place we were renting Darwin and I made the hardest decision even though it was the best one, he stayed up there to continue his job and live on site and I came home, stayed with my mum until I found a place, which I did!
Ethan and I have settled well and he now sleeps happily in his own lil bedroom. He is growing fast, crawling at superspeed and it ownt be long before he is walking. He says Ta, Up, Mum, Dad, More and possibly one or two more I cant think of right now and he is such a happy and contented and loving soul.
We both miss Darwin terribly but we try and visit every 4-6 weeks and stay for a week and the time is flying past pretty fast, Darwin moves down with us at the start of November so when we move the calender onto a new month its a good feeling.
Hamish loves his new home too, he is very protective of Ethan and so gentle with him and we are lucky that our neighbours have a little jack russell and a little boy so they all get together and play.
My mum and sisters visit alot, they spoil ethan with clothes, toys and best of all hugs and we are literally a five min car journey from them, we can actually walk through the park behind our house to one of my sisters.
Will do some more updating tommorrow, in the meantime I have added some recent pics of our lil dude and his lil bedroom! Loving the new photo scrapbook thingy on LJ!
